Spokane Public Radio (WA) (12/26, Nadvornick) reported on the Access to Baby and Child Dentistry (ABCD) program, an oral health program in Washington for children enrolled in Medicaid. After first starting in Spokane in 1995, ABCD now “has a presence in all 39 Washington counties.” The article added that since ABCD launched, “the number of children in Washington’s Apple Health Medicaid program who go to the dentist has increased from 20% to almost 55%,” and “the number of children who experience health problems due to dental issues has significantly decreased.”
