The ADA News (1/9) reported the Department of Health and Human Services on Nov. 25 released a “five-minute video explaining how to search its list of excluded individuals and entities, called LEIE.” The HHS Office of Inspector General’s website says that “anyone who hires an individual or entity on the LEIE may be subject to civil monetary penalties. To avoid liability, health care entities should routinely check the list to ensure that new hires and current employees are not on it.” The video is available on the inspector general’s website.
The ADA Center for Professional Success also has a resource available. Visit ada.org and search “LEIE.”
