ADA’s GKAS Program Kicks Off Today

Image result for give kids a smileThe ADA News (2/6, Versaci) reports that starting today, “the American Dental Association’s Give Kids A Smile program will bring free oral health services to hundreds of thousands of children across the U.S.” Since GKAS launched nationally in 2003, the program “has served more than 6 million children in need.” In 2020, “nearly 340,000 children will receive free care from about 6,500 volunteer dentists and 26,000 other dental team and community volunteers at 1,400 GKAS events.” The Indiana University School of Dentistry is hosting the 2020 GKAS national kickoff event today in Indianapolis. More than 150 volunteers will participate in the event, providing “dental exams, cleanings, fillings, crowns, extractions, fluoride, sealants, X-rays and oral health education to about 250 area children.”
