The ADA News (7/6, Garvin) reports legislation was signed on July 4 that extends the deadline for dentists and other businesses to apply for aid under the Paycheck Protection Program (PPP). The new application deadline is Aug. 8.

The Hill (7/4, Chalfant) reported that the “program, set up to help assist businesses impacted by closures related to the coronavirus pandemic,” had expired June 30 “with roughly $130 billion left unused.”

Reuters (7/4, Johnson) reported that the extension “gives business owners an additional five weeks to apply for funding assistance.”

Fox Business (7/4, Leggate) called the program “a lifeline to businesses struggling to keep paying employees.”

The ADA offers Small Business Administration loan resources on the ADA Center for Professional Success’ website, including links to apply for a Paycheck Protection Program loan.
