Dental Assisting/Hygiene Workforce Outreach

The CCDS Executive Council and our Executive Director, Evolve Solutions Group, have made a concerted effort to form relationships with Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs locally. This effort has led to this page where Member Dentists can see the details surrounding each program and see the specific directions we've received from each on how to best get in contact with their alumni. CCDS hopes that this will be mutually beneficial to our local Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs and to our Member Dentists in optimizing efforts for dental workforce relationships in Clark County.

Carrington College

Carrington College is located in Portland, Oregon and provides both Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene progams. Pierce College is located in Lakewood, Washington and offers a Bachelor of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. Pierce College’s Director, Monica Hospenthal asks dentists to post their advertisement of open positions to the Pierce College Dental Hygiene Facebook page. Please note that the Pierce College Dental Hygiene page only allows dental hygiene positions to be posted to their page. Advertisements should be published within two weeks of submission.

Portland Community College

Portland Community College (PCC) is located in Portland, Oregon and offers both Dental Assisting and Dental Hygiene programs. Member Dentists can email their advertisement of open positions and how they would like PCC alumni to contact them to Diane Jantze, PCC’s Jobs and Internships Specialist. If the position you are trying to fill is entry level, you are encouraged to post your position on PCC’S Panther Works jobs page.

PCC also provides the opportunity to schedule a tabling event outside their office. Diane needs promotion information to email the Dental students, and the event can be placed on the PCC calendar. There is also an option to have an interviewing room be scheduled.

Mt. Hood Community College is located in Gresham, Oregon and offers an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Dental Hygiene.
