Greetings to all member dentists of CCDS,
I hope this newsletter finds all of you enjoying our splendid summer weather in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all the local Clark County dentists who attended the Camas City Council this month to voice their support to continue the fluoridation of the Camas city water supply. I believe the support provided by our local dentists made a significant difference in the Council’s affirmative vote to maintain the optimal Fluoride level in the Camas community water.
This issue is not going away though with the city of Battle Ground’s council discussing this same Fluoride topic in their upcoming meeting Monday July 21 at 7pm. I encourage any of the local dentists that want to support the continuation of Fluoridated water to attend this meeting. Or a letter in support to cityclerk.info@cityofbg.org would help our cause also. The Fluoride issue last arose in Battle Ground in December 2021. At that time multiple local dentists wrote to the BG city council, and they voted to maintain Fluoride in the city’s water supply. I would like to thank Connie Brown, Steve Hokett, Duke Simpson and others for their ongoing advocacy of Fluoride in our community water supply.
Thank you to TDIC for sponsoring our summer newsletter. They have sponsored multiple CCDS meetings in the past. Daniel Yoldi is the local TDIC representative and is available for insurance reviews on request. Daniel may be reached at daniel.yoldi@tdicins.com.
The first meeting of the fall will be held at 6pm on September 11th at Royal Oaks Country Club. The speaker is Tyler Pritchard, an orthodontist from the local community. We still have a few openings in the spring for speakers for those of you that would like to present at the dental society or have suggestions for speakers. I hope to see many of you at our next membership meeting in September.
